Kakazu Sensei Sensei was born in Naha and is 75 years old. The Kenshikai headquarters dojo is located in Uema, Naha City and the dojo will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year. In addition to the dojo in Uema, there are 12 dojos with one Shuri, Okinawa, and the rest are located overseas, mainly in Shanghai, China. Kakazu Sensei is a master 10th Dan of Okinawan Shorin-ryu, but he started Karate with a black belt from Okinawa Kempo Shigeru Nakamura Sensei, and at the age of 19 he studied Goju-ryu from Jundokan’s Eiichi Miyazato Sensei. He learned Shorin-ryu from Hiroshi Gushiken Sensei and Yuchoku Higa Sensei of Kyudokan. Kakazu Sensei has acquired skills from many experts who represent Okinawan Karate. Also, when he was young, he participated in many full contact Karate competitions. Currently, he has the skills of Ryukyu Kobudo.
