Shigeru Nakamura was born in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture in 1891. He learned Karate from Anko Itosu, Chomo Hanashiro, Shinkichi Kuniyoshi and other masters of the era.
From an early stage, Okinawa Kenpo adopted a practical style of fighting with facial armor. The founder, Shigeru Nakamura, continued to complain that “there is a competition without karate” and “there is no Karate style in Okinawa”. The representative kata of Okinawa Kenpo are Niseishi and Seisan, with Niseishi being used for lower body training and Seisan for upper body training. In the styles of Okinawan karate where you can learn practical techniques and traditional karate. Toru Kiyan 8th Dan won the 1st All Okinawa Bogutsuki Open Tournament Tournament in 1979, and then won the Okinawa Kenpo Tournament 8 times. Currently, he is also the vice chairman of Okinawa Kenpo.
